Ms. Catha Marie McLean of Fairmont passed away on May 3, 2025 at UNC Health Southeastern in Lumberton, North Carolina. She was born in Parkton, North Carolina to the late Elijah McLean and Amelia McLean, on January 18, 1960. Ms. McLean received her high school diploma from Robeson Community College in Lumberton, North Carolina. She was employed by Gerber Children's Ware Manufacture for ten years. She was a dedicated worker there and was a valued employee. Her mother Amelia was self employed operating a catering business and Catha worked beside her mother and siblings in the family business. Her hobby's were fishing plus she picked up the love for cooking from her mother, so cooking was a fulfilling past time for her. You could find her beginning spring in her yard making the landscape beautiful planting all types of colorful flowers. Her most precious time was spent with her grandchildren. She was a country girl that could do it all. Something else very important to her was to be supportive of her grandson who competed in sporting events. She was his biggest cheerleader and attended all of his events.
Following in the footsteps of her parents, Catha joined the First Baptist Church at an early age. At church Catha served on the culinary committee and other places she was asked to serve when needed.
Catha was preceded in death by her mother and father Elijah and Armelia McLean, her siblings; Fannie Mae Brown, William McLean, Larry McLean, Linda Moody, Shirley Brisco, Theodore McLean, Amelia McLean, Patricia Arnette and Elijah Leonard McLean. McLean
Ms. McLean leaves to mourn and cherish her memory her loving daughters; Kashana Marie McLean and Tremelia B. McLean both of Fairmont, NC along with her four grandchildren Jaylin McLean, Tyrek Thompson, Tamar McLean and Lamarya Belle, along with many other relatives and friends..
