Hattie Louise Harper was born July,13 1937 to Horace Leonard and Eula Campbell Leonard in Mullins, SC and lived to the ripe age of Eighty Seven. Hattie was educated in the school system in Marion County South Carolina. After graduating from high school, she moved to Baltimore, MD. There she met the love of her life, Forest Harper Sr and they were married and spent many happy years together. Mr. Harper preceded her in death. She worked at Franklin Square Hospital and also John Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore MD as a dietician for several years until she retired. When her health started declining she moved to Fairmont, North Carolina to be closer to her sister Elista Mae Abram. They enjoyed having each other close by in their senior ages. Elista Mae passed away and shortly after her passing, Hattie moved to Charlotte, NC. There she lived in an assistant living facility where she was care for and loved until peacefully passing away in her sleep on May 12, 2025. For a good while Hattie was taken care of by Maxine Daniel.
Hattie was the youngest of nine siblings who all preceded her in death. John Calvin Leonard, Donella Singletary, Lee Chester Leonard, Alberta Mcneil, Elista Abram, Eulalee Davis, Marthenia Snead, Carlton Leonard.
She is survived by loving Step children, Forest Harper Jr (Bevelyn) Shirley Hines (Terry Sr) Kathy Harper Rolle, Lorenza Harper, Wanda Harper, Ricky Harper. She leaves to mourn her passing seven nephews, Carlton Abram(Gladys), Lee Chester Leonard, Steve Abram, Watis McNeil, Milton Abram, Curtis Davis, Michael Davis. She is also survived by four loving nieces Vista Jones, Eula Abram, Myrtle Martin, Latoya Snead. She leaves a host of grands and great grands, other nieces and nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
