Emma Lou Stark

Emma Lou Bost Stark at the age of 95 triumphed over her mortal existence to join the immortal with her God and Saviour in Heaven on May 14, 2025. She was the beloved daughter of the late Ruben and Estoria Bost and was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Stark, infant son, Lonnie Jr., daughter, Janet Stark, son, Anthony Stark, and sister, Ruth Lee Bost Barrier. Emma attended Cabarrus County Schools and Logan High School. She worked for Cannon Mills in Concord, NC. However, she found her true love working with children at the Logan Community Child Development Center for 25+ years in various capacities. She witnessed the development of many of the children at the Center to excel in various professions. She was a faithful member of First Missionary Baptist Church. In addition, she was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Jessie O. McCain Chapter No. 652 PHA. She was honored to be named one of the Living Legends in Cabarrus County at the MLK Banquet on January 17, 2025. Family over everything (FOE) was her "Joy". She enjoyed cooking and watching others savior her dishes. She was also known for her words of encouragement and discipline for "Hers" and "Yours" in the Logan Community. She loved her family but especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren unconditionally. She often shared her life experiences and wisdom that will last us a lifetime. Left to cherish her memory include, five daughters, Shelia (Thaddeus) Howie and Estoria Stark of Charlotte, NC, Marice Stark, Edith Stark, and Adrienne Stark of Concord, NC; two sons, Robert W. Davis and Allen (Pam) Stark of Concord, NC 20 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends. She had a warm and loving heart of gold for her Philadelphia relatives. Also, special recognitions for The Reverends Kenneth and Phyllis Gill, Paris Bostic Jones, Coleman Smith, Deborah Russell, Linda Smith, Tish Young, Shirley Mack, Lester Parks, Torrence Grier, Gary Boger, Alvin Russell, Julius Mitchell, Clifford Smith, and Alonzo Steele. Funeral arrangements are scheduled for Saturday, May 24, 2025 at First Missionary Baptist Church located at 59 Chestnut Drive SW in Concord. The visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. - Noon followed by the funeral service at Noon. Burial will follow at Rutherford Memorial Park in Concord. Lamb Funeral Home Inc. will be serving the family.
