On Thursday, May 9, 2024, Emma went to heaven surrounded by family. A special treat for her daughter Connie as it was her birthday. Connie preceded Mom in death, waiting for her in heaven. What a birthday gift. Emma Stroehl was born Emma Brandt on September 29, 1927, at Kramer, ND. She was the daughter of Andrew and Christina Brandt.

She married Albert Froseth on February 22, 1944. She had five children, Connie Graves, Ron Froseth of NM, Brad Froseth of OK, Bruce Froseth of ND and Renee Lee of AZ/FL. She worked as a telephone switch board operator out of her home while tending to her children, later as a waitress, and helped her husband Al with the Kirby business. The Kirby business gave them the opportunity to travel the world, Africa, Italy, Spain, and Mexico. After Al passed, she worked as a lease manager for the housing authority in Evanston, WY. The job she loved the most was as a wife and mother. Her family was her priority.

Emma married Earl Stroehl after the death of her first husband. They married on Nov 24th,1990. They loved to travel so they bought a truck and a fifth wheel and RV’d full time for about 10 years. Once Earl’s sight got bad from macular degeneration, they settled down in Sun City, AZ and would just go to the high country for the summer to get out of the scorching heat of AZ.

She enjoyed baking and always had the favorite treat on hand for whomever was coming to see her. We are thankful for all the cookies, kringers, bars, and lefsa she taught us to make. We have kept many a family tradition with our holiday treats as we all love them. She had a way of making us all feel very special. She had a smile and kind words for everyone. She loved to play pinochle and Fast Track. She was a fan of The Wheel of Fortune and loved her soaps. She never forgot a birthday, you knew you were getting a card from her.

She loved her church, “Shepherd of the Desert.” She was grateful for all the friends at her church and her new Pastor John Maroni.

Emma is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Ron & Sharon Froseth, Brad & Sveta Froseth, Bruce & Kathy Froseth. Also, by her daughter and Significant Other, Renee Lee & Joe Richardson. She is also survived by her two stepchildren, Terry & Sue Pohlen, and Connie & Roger Welters. Her Grandchildren, Colette & Carl Meyer, Cindy and Stan Sapp, Terry Froseth, Mike Froseth, Jason Froseth, Angie & Randall Weinzierl, Arika Stanley, Nikita Froseth, James Froseth, Ryan & Sadie Froseth, Chad & Mallory Froseth, Adam & Leah Froseth, Jill & Matt Beaumont, and Amanda Lee. Her step grandchildren Amber Pohlen & Matt Leighton, Hilary Polen & Evan Fritts, Daniel & Jocelyn Neisen, Kimberly Neisen & Lucas Fillbrandt. She also has 44 great grandchildren and 16 great- great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Al Froseth and Earl Stroehl, her daughter Connie Graves, son-in-law Jack Graves, two great grandchildren, her parents and her eight siblings.

Funeral Services will be held at Shepherd of the Desert Lutheran Church at 11025 N 111th Ave Sun City, AZ on Saturday, May 18th, 2024, at 10 a.m. with a viewing at 9 a.m. Refreshments and memories will be held in Walton Hall at the church after the service.
