Emmett James Argus Sr., 85, of Evansville, Illinois, born February 18, 1940 in East St. Louis, Illinois, passed away on Thursday, September 18, 2025 at St. Paul's Home in Belleville, Illinois.

Emmett was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend, and so much more to many people. He was a welder for three different dry-docs and was very dedicated to his job. He loved his family fiercely. There was nothing he would not do for them. He was crazy about his wife, Pat, whom he was married to for 65 years. His
hobbies were working in his yard and taking care of his truck. He loved to decorate for Christmas just like the Grizwald! He was always joking and teasing with people. He liked to make everyone laugh. He loved God with all his heart and was affiliated with Calvary Baptist Church in Dupo, IL. and with Calvary Church in Eden, IL.

Emmett was 1 of 6 children born to Leonard and Cora, nee Aubuschon, Argus.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia; a son, Brian; three brothers; his twin sister; and both parents.

Surviving are his children, Emmett(Julie) Argus Jr., Donald(Martha) Argus, and Amanda(Pete) Orella; grandchildren, Lindsay (Jon) K, Brian A, Austin A, Mike N, Julie N, Faith (Derek) N, and Ashlyn O. great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Everett K, Braxton, Astrid, Everett A, Cooper, Kylie, Daniel, and Hazley; and a sister, Betty; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws.

In following Emmett's wishes, a private cremation was to be held
