Emory Eugene O'Kelley, born on June 13, 1940, in Maysville, Georgia, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2025, in Commerce, Georgia. Emory led a fulfilling life dedicated to his career with the Department of Transportation and proudly served his country in the Navy and National Guard.
Emory was a pillar of strength and support for his family. He is survived by his sons, Charlie (Lisa) O'Kelley, Dusty (Alexia) O'Kelley, and Anthony (Alicia) O'Kelley; his brother, Vernon O'Kelley; six cherished grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Their lives were enriched by him, and they will forever hold dear the memories shared with him.
Emory was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Charlie and Salley Suggs O'Kelley; his dear wife, Linda Gail Austin O'Kelley; and his son, Scott O'Kelley. He also mourns the loss of his brothers, Paul O'Kelley, Elmer O'Kelley, and Henry O'Kelley, as well as his sisters, Inez Watkins and Mary Saxon.
The community and all who knew Emory are invited to attend a visitation to celebrate his life on December 11, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Ivie Funeral Home in Commerce, Georgia. A memorial service will follow, beginning at 4:00 PM, allowing friends and family to gather together in remembrance of a remarkable man.
Emory Eugene O'Kelley will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his dedication to his work, and his service to his country. He leaves behind a legacy that will resonate in the hearts of those who knew him.
