Kenneth "Homer" David Nix, born on May 7, 1960, in Commerce, Georgia, passed away on December 5, 2025, in Gillsville, Georgia. A devoted step-father, brother, and son, Kenneth will be remembered for his unwavering spirit and dedication to his family and community.
Throughout his career, Kenneth was an influential part of Buffington Construction, where his skills and work ethic left a lasting impact. He approached every task with a sense of purpose and pride, earning respect from colleagues and clients alike.
Kenneth's strong Baptist faith guided him through life, providing him with the strength and support he extended to others. He was deeply caring and always willing to lend a helping hand, reflecting the values he held dear.
He is survived by his beloved mother, Ruby Wilson Nix, and his significant other, Tina Stiles. Kenneth's legacy will continue through his step-sons, Nick Marlow, Louis (Kayla) Stiles, Patrick Stiles, and D.J. Stiles, as well as his grandchildren, Michelle Stiles, Lucas Stiles, and others who brought him great joy. His sister, Linda Nix and nieces and nephews, including David Brown, Candice Brown, Tyler Brown, Kinsey Brown, and Walker Brown, will also cherish his memory.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his father, David Nix. He will be missed profoundly by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Visitation for Kenneth will be held on December 12, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM. Both events will take place at Ivie Funeral Home, located at 1053 S. Elm Street, Commerce, Georgia 30529. As we gather to honor his life, we invite all who knew him to come together in remembrance of a truly remarkable man.
