Enrique Escamilla, de 74 años, residente de Elgin, Illinois, falleció el 19 de septiembre de 2025. Nació el 30 de junio de 1951 en Uripitio, Michoacán, México, hijo de sus queridos padres, Delfino Escamilla y Juana Flores.
Enrique fue un esposo, padre y abuelo dedicado, un hombre trabajador y un hombre que vivió con generosidad y alegría. Tras obtener su certificado de técnico automotriz, persiguió su pasión dirigiendo su propio taller mecánico, Escamilla Automotive Repair, donde su dedicación y habilidad le valieron el respeto de muchos.
Compartió 48 maravillosos años de matrimonio con su amada esposa, Ernestina, hasta su fallecimiento en 2022. Juntos construyeron un hogar lleno de amor, calidez, alegría y hospitalidad.
Enrique era conocido por su humor y positivismo, siempre listo para un chiste, una canción o un silbido alegre. Le encantaba cocinar, especialmente preparar las mejores salsas, y disfrutaba recibir a familiares y amigos en su casa. Gran cocinero y jardinero, encontraba alegría en los placeres sencillos y le encantaba viajar a México para mantenerse conectado con sus raíces.
Sobre todo, Enrique será recordado como un hombre bondadoso que nunca dudó en ayudar a quien lo necesitara. Su amabilidad, calidez y espíritu alegre conmovieron la vida de todos los que lo conocieron, y su recuerdo vivirá en los corazones de su familia y amigos.
A Enrique le precedieron en la muerte sus padres; esposa, Ernestina Parra Villa; hija de 3 años, M. Teresita Escamilla; hermanos, José, Darío, Guadalupe, Francisco y Pedro; y hermanas, Abigail y Consuelo. Le sobreviven sus hijos, José E. Escamilla, María Teresa Muñoz, María Escamilla y Gabriela Escamilla; hermanos, Santiago Escamilla y Carmen Escamilla; nietos, Idalis Martinez, Xavier Leal, Adrian Leal, Mia Muñoz, Natalie Muñoz, Nelly Leal, Isabel Torres y Giovannie Leal; y bisnietos, Analis Carrera, Sebastian Carrera y Santiago Carrera.
El velatorio se realizará de 17:00 a 21:00 h el jueves 25 de septiembre de 2025 y de 10:00 a 11:00 h el viernes 26 de septiembre de 2025 en la Funeraria Symonds-Madison, 305 Park Street, Elgin, IL 60120.

Enrique Escamilla, age 74, of Elgin, IL, passed away on September 19, 2025. He was born June 30, 1951 in Uripitio, Michoacan, Mexico to his loving parents, Delfino Escamilla and Juana Flores.
Enrique was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, a hard worker, and a man who lived with generosity and joy. After earning his automotive technician certificate, he pursued his passion by owning and operating his own automotive repair shop, Escamilla Automotive Repair, where his dedication and skill earned him the respect of many.
He shared 48 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Ernestina, until her passing in 2022. Together they built a loving home filled with warmth, laughter, and hospitality.
Enrique was known for his humor and positivity-always ready with a joke, a song, or a cheerful whistle. He loved to cook, especially creating the best salsas, and enjoyed hosting family and friends in his home. A great cook and gardener, he found joy in simple pleasures and loved traveling to Mexico to stay connected to his roots.
Above all, Enrique will be remembered as a caring man who never hesitated to help anyone in need. His kindness, warmth, and joyful spirit touched the lives of all who knew him, and his memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
Enrique was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ernestina Parra Villa; 3 year old daughter, M. Teresita Escamilla; brothers, Jose, Dario, Guadalupe, Francisco, and Pedro; and sisters, Abigail and Consuelo. He is survived by his children, Jose E. Escamilla, Maria Teresa Muñoz, Maria Escamilla, and Gabriela Escamilla; siblings, Santiago Escamilla and Carmen Escamilla; grandchildren, Idalis Martinez, Xavier Leal, Adrian Leal, Mia Muñoz, Natalie Muñoz, Nelly Leal, Isabel Torres, and Giovannie Leal; and great-grandchildren, Analis Carrera, Sebastian Carrera, and Santiago Carrera.
Visitation will be 5:00pm to 9:00pm, Thursday, September 25, 2025, and 10:00am to 11:00am, Friday, September 26, 2025, at Symonds-Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park Street, Elgin, IL 60120.

Mass will be at 11:30am, Friday, September 26, 2025 at St. Mary Church of Elgin, 400 Fulton Street, Elgin, IL 60120. Fr. Lino Smith will be officiating.
