Eric John Anderson was born in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, on October 13, 1959, to Gene and Garnette Anderson. He had five brothers, no sisters.
He graduated from Lincoln High School in Wisconsin Rapids with High Honors, and attended Milton College in Wisconsin for two years where he studied Criminal Justice.
He served our Country honorably in the United States Army for 23 years, retiring as a Master Sergeant.
During that time, he married his wife Ko(Young Mi) and lived a happy full life together as best friends.
While serving in the Army he also completed his college degree earning a Master's Degree in Criminal Justice from Central Texas College.
After retiring from the Army, he was Senior Military Science Instructor in the Army ROTC program at Purdue University. He taught there for almost nine years influencing positively the lives of numerous cadets.
He ended his retirement working at the Indiana Veterans Home in the facility Maintenance Department. There he took pride in serving his fellow veterans by letting them know they still matter to our Country. Not only did he help provide comfortable living conditions, he also ministered to the moral support of staff, as well as the residents.
Eric passed away peacefully in the presence of loved ones. Mass of Christian burial will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at the Church of the Blessed Sacrament, 2224 Sacramento Avenue in West Lafayette, Indiana, with visitation beginning at 10:00 am. Father Daniel Shine will be the celebrant. Committal service and final rest will take place immediately following mass at the Indiana Veterans Home Cemetery with full Military Honors.

Eric and his brother Jon and I were neighbors growing up. It saddens me to hear of his passing. It gladden me to hear of all the good he did for the young men under his watch. RIP.

So sorry to hear of Eric's passing today from his brother, Deacon Jon. We dated in high school and have always had fond memories of our time together. Glad to hear of Eric's confirmation shortly before his death. Dug out a couple of photos. Hope your life was full and happy. Jane

Our time together was short, but he always had a positive attitude. Until Valhalla brother!

I will always be grateful to Master Sergeant Anderson for the way he mentored my son as an ROTC cadet at Purdue. He shared much of his military knowledge with those cadets which proved to be valuable after commissioning. My son is an Army Major now and has referenced Master Sergeant Anderson´s words of wisdom many times in his career. I feel fortunate that time and circumstances allowed my son to train and learn under Eric´s guidance. Truly an honor and a privilege to have know him.
