Eric Andrew Cofield was born April 11, 1967, in Columbus Ohio to Andrew James Cofield and Minnie Grace Cofield. He suddenly left this earth and went home to be with the Lord, February 3, 2025, surrounded by loved ones and the presence of The Holy Spirit.
Eric was raised in Columbus Ohio and graduated from Columbus Briggs High School. He received the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal savior and Lord in his mid-thirties. Eric was currently attending The Upper Room Church of God in Columbus Ohio. Eric liked school. He had perfect attendance many years while attending Livingston Avenue Elementary School, Barrett Junior High School and Central High School. Although Eric graduated from Columbus Briggs High School, he also attended Columbus Central High School where he played junior varsity football. He attended Northwest Career Central where he studied law enforcement and he worked security for most of his adult life. He worked as a security guard at Kroger Bakery Plant until 2019 and Allied Universal Security.
Eric had a heart of gold, and he was also very funny and loved to tell jokes and sometimes he would even pull a harmless prank. He was a kind, loving and soft-spoken man who loved the Lord. He was always sweet and innocent with a smile that was just so inviting. He will be dearly missed but we rejoice knowing he will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
Eric is preceded in death by his father; Andrew J. Cofield, brothers. Anderson Cofield and Donald Cofield, sisters-in law; Donna Cofield and Catherine Cofield, niece; Shantel Grigsby-Decoux, nephew; Dashay Coleman.
Left to cherish his memory is his mother, Minnie G. Cofield, brother, Ernest Cofield of Ashland KY, sisters, Diane (Kenneth) Stevens, Frieda Cofield, Sandra (David) Cofield, Claudine (Thomas) Parenteau of Norfolk, VA. Pamela (Bob) Boykins of Orange Park, FL; Jacqueline (Solomon) Williams of Pflugerville, TX and many nieces, nephews and friends.
