Eric Wayne Coleman, 63, of Paragould, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2025, surrounded by his loving family and friends.
Born November 23, 1961, in Paragould, Arkansas, to Harold and Doris Coleman. Eric grew up in Mounds until age 12, then moved to Paragould and graduated from Greene County Tech High School in 1980. On May 21, 1983, he married Melinda Wilburn, and together they built a beautiful life in Stanford, Arkansas, raising their children, Daniel and Erica.
A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Eric was known for his deep love of the outdoors, infectious humor, and exceptional cooking. For over 33 years, he served Northeast Arkansas as a Professional Land Surveyor through Coleman Land Survey Service, a business he proudly shared with his son, Daniel.
An active member of Calvary Baptist Church for more than 50 years, Eric was a steadfast believer in the Lord Jesus Christ and is now in His presence.
Each morning began with two cups of black coffee; each evening ended watching the sunset. He found joy in farming, raising cattle, chickens, pigs, and rabbits while growing corn, hay, and barley. He also loved working in his vegetable garden, hunting, fishing, cooking, and listening to music. Eric delighted in hosting family and friends, preparing delicious meals accompanied by storytelling, jokes, impersonations, singing, and dancing. His laughter, wisdom, and mentorship touched countless lives.
He was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Doris Coleman.
Eric is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Melinda Coleman; his son, Daniel (Deavinie) Coleman; his daughter, Erica (Tyler) Smith; his granddaughter, Ruby Jean Coleman; soon-to-be grandson, Ellis Wayne Coleman; his brothers, Jeff (Cindy) Coleman and Darren (Patricia) Coleman; father-in-law, Kenneth Wilburn; brothers-in-law, Bryan (Danna) Wilburn and Anthony (Becky) Wilburn; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Eric will be deeply missed but forever remembered for the love and legacy he leaves behind.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Calvary Baptist Church from 12:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. The funeral service will immediately follow with Brother Albert Camp and Brother Bud Evans officiating. Then, the burial service will follow at Croft Cemetery.
Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Justin Freeman, Jody Freeman, Logan Wilburn, Justice Wilburn, Tyler Smith, and Jake Best. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Pigue, Ted Spillman, Danny Jernigan, Clint Richardson, Cody Wilburn, Allex Gibbs, and other close friends.
