Eric Cuevas, age 51, of Tamarac, Florida, passed away suddenly on July 12, 2023. He was born on February 10, 1972, in Edinburg, Texas, to Pablo and Maria Cuevas. Eric worked over 25 years for Popular Bank and most recently in Miami Lakes, Florida where he was an Assistant Vice President of Commercial Loan Documentation. He had a special relationship with his bank family and loved working with them. He was dedicated to his career. Eric enjoyed Listening to his favorite music from Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack, cooking, was very generous, gentle, and kind. He volunteered for Jr. Achievement where he gave talks to students and enjoyed volunteering at soup kitchens. What Eric loved most of all was his family and treasured friends.
Eric is survived by his brother, Carlos (Susan) Cuevas; sisters, Binda (Mark) Knutsen and Edith Cuevas; stepmother Irma Santoyo, stepbrother, Omar (Gina) Olivares; nieces and nephews, Stephanie (Brandon) Deam, Nicholas Cuevas, Maria Knutsen, Nina Cuevas, Irma, Michelle and Alan Olivares; Many Cherished & dearly loved friends including: Brian (Julie) Dittman, Ryan, Haley & Will Dittman; Michael (Jennifer) Hershaft, Ethan & Zachary Hershaft;
He was preceded in death by his parents, Pablo and Maria Cuevas and niece, Emily Knutsen.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Norris-Segert Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 132 Fremont St. West Chicago. Prayers will be on Thursday, July 20, 2023, at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home and proceed to St. Mary’s Church, 164 N. Oakwood Ave., West Chicago where a funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Interment Private.
