Eric Gross Obituary
Eric is survived by his parents, Shobha Sinha and Paul Nelson, his brother Thomas Jai (Julie) Gross, his uncles and aunts, Uday (Angana) Shroff, Subodh (Kumkum) Sinha, Shefali (Yogesh) Tejpal, Poonam Sinha, Cindy (Noral) Johnson, Patty (Steve) Fuchs, Mary Beth Gross, Chris (Stephen) Bluth, John (Chloe) Gross, Patti Anne (Dan) Mullen, Joe Gross and Nicole Hellums, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Eric has always had an artistic flair. As a child, he loved staying up with his maternal grandparents listening to North Indian Classical Music. He used his knowledge of tabla, to develop a compelling style of DJ'ing that evoked attention from local artists and DJ's. However, his passion was the Culinary Arts.
He graduated from Hinsdale South High School and completed Culinary Arts Education in Boulder, CO. He specialized in gourmet vegan dishes long before it became popular. In addition to working in this industry, he enjoyed presenting multi-course home demonstrations. It took no time for him to whip up a dinner prepared with care, thoughtfulness and joy.
His goofy jokes, fun-loving attitude, endearing manner, and big bear hugs will be missed.
A visitation will be held on Friday, May 12th from 9 am to 10:30 am followed by a Puja service at 10:30 am at Damar Kaminski Funeral Home, 7861 S. 88th Avenue, Justice IL. A reception will follow the service at another location.

Eric, I still remember when you would come to UIC, with your Mom being pregnant with Jai, and entertain us all. We sure miss you!
