Eric Lynn Hall

Eric Lynn Hall, 59, of Tontitown, AR, originally of Taylorville, IL, passed away Wednesday, October 29, 2025.

He was born June 30, 1966, in Taylorville, IL, the son of Robert and Lynda (Kevie) Hall.

On November 25th, 1988, Eric married the love of his life, Angie Marie Coplea and she survives. Eric served the State of Illinois for 25 years as an Illinois State Police Officer. Prior to joining the Illinois State Police, he served the communities of Auburn, IL and Stonington, IL as a police officer. He retired from the Illinois State Police as a Master Sergeant and served as a respected leader for many years leading many initiatives and investigations throughout his career.

Eric is survived by his loving wife Angie; sons, Tyler (Molly) Hall of Springdale, AR and Nathan Hall (Alex Erbs) of St. Louis, MO; parents, Robert and Lynda Hall of Taylorville, IL; sister, Kari Hall-Keating of Urbana, IL; 2 grandchildren, Hudson and Hayes Hall; his mother-in-law, Madeline Francis of Springfield, IL; his in-laws, Susan (Larry) Williams, Robert (Joyce) Coplea, Paula (Nick) Hahn, and Julie Coplea.

Eric was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents; Bob and Erma Kevie; his paternal grandparents, Nelson and Fran Bortell; and his father-in-law Gene Francis.

Eric was a strong leader, not only represented in his accomplished career as a police officer; but also as a husband, father and papa. For Eric, his family was always first on his mind and taking care of every need they had, even if they did not know it. Eric added an additional responsibility about 4 years ago when he earned a new title, Papa. Hudson and Hayes got to enjoy the best of Eric from being papa's helpers to him teaching them how to work in Papa's Shed. Per Eric’s wishes, cremation was chosen, there will be no services. The family will be hosting one last party on Eric to share memories. The party will be in Springfield, IL at The KC Columbian Hall (2200 S Meadowbrook Rd Springfield, IL) on Saturday November 8 from 1p-5p. This will be a casual and open house style of event.
