Eric Noel Keiser
06/27/1958-06/25/2023
Eric Noel Keiser was born on June 27,1958 at Immanuel Hospital in
Omaha, Nebraska to LaVerne and Leone (Noel) Keiser. Eric grew up on the Keiser family farm in
Waterloo, NE. He attended grade school at District 15 and graduated high school in 1976 from Waterloo High School. As a child, he was always helping out on the farm with his siblings. They worked hard laying irrigation pipe and walking beans, but always had a ton of fun. Some of Eric's favorite pastimes were cooking in the kitchen, and sitting on the front porch swing with his mom talking about the weather and life. Before Eric was old enough to drive, he would drive his grandpa Keiser around in his old white sedan by placing a few pieces of wood on the petal. He drove his grandfather around slowly while they looked at crops together and stopped by the store. Young Eric's hobbies included singing in the choir at church, drama classes, distance running, playing the clarinet in band, and watching the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
Eric married Holly Speckmann on April 2, 1982 at Waterloo Presbyterian church in
Waterloo, NE. They moved to Dallas, Texas in 1982. To this union one child was born on August 1, 1983, Lesley Nicole Keiser. Eric was a member of the Dallas Jaycees and became president in 1983. He traveled all over Texas with his wife and daughter representing the Jaycees. Eric was inducted as a member of the Most Outstanding Young Men of America for 1983. Eric was in commercial, and residential real estate and leasing.
In July of 1992, Eric met Daniel (Dan) Chamberlain, and they were joined in a private union ceremony that November. Eric and Dan had many homes together in
Dallas, TX where they planted backyard crops and played croquet. Eric loved to play competitive games such as Risk, Monopoly, and Pinochle. Eric played on a men's softball league (catcher) and held fundraisers with Hunky's. In 2005, Eric and Dan moved to Valley, NE to take care of his father, LaVerne Keiser. In 2014, Eric and Dan moved back to Texas and found permanent residence in
Alvarado, TX.
Eric and Dan are affectionately known as "Chip and Dale" to their three grandchildren born to Lesley Keiser and Brandon Furness; Grayson Lee Furness (2014), Kora Nicole Jean Furness (2016), and Witten James Noel Furness (2020).
