Eric Anthony McClure

July 17, 1953 - May 11, 2025

San Antonio, Texas - Eric A. "Rick" McClure, 71, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away peacefully at home on May 11, 2025.

Born in Wichita, Kansas, Rick grew up in Maize and graduated from Maize High School in 1971. He earned his degree from Wichita State University in 1976 and married Vici Tinsley in 1978.

The couple lived in Maize before moving to Brownsville, Texas, where Rick worked for many years as a service manager in various automotive dealerships. Upon retirement, Rick and Vici settled in San Antonio.

Rick enjoyed building and flying model airplanes, collecting firearms, target shooting, amateur ham radio, and gardening. Most of all, he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Ann McClure; his brother, Terry; and daughter-in-law, Carrie. He is survived by his wife, Vici McClure; sons, Joshua of Colwich, KS, and Gabriel (Alexia) of Wimberley, TX; daughter, Caitlin of San Antonio, TX; and three grandchildren: Jack, Asher, and Mila.

A celebration of life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at Maize Congregational Christian Church, 101 Academy Ave., Maize, Kansas, with a reception to follow.

Memorial contributions may be made to the church or to a favorite charity.
