Eric John Mino

Eric John Mino, 64, of Creston, Ohio, died March 13, 2025, of heart failure. He had a gritty and funny way about him that made many feel comfortable and relaxed; took great care of his wife, Norma, until her death in July 2021; and counted multiple dogs as reliable companions throughout his life.
Eric unapologetically lived life on his own terms. His wedding attire, including that he wore to marry Norma, included denim jeans. He once wore foam bunny ears he'd stapled to a baseball hat to an Easter lunch at Olive Garden. He liked a stiff drink. And his family members recall needing to stay ready during their shared childhood, backpacks near the door, should Eric injure himself (again), necessitating a trip to the ER. His wild nature was one his nieces compared to Uncle Buck of the 1989 namesake movie.
Eric's family hopes he finds Norma and peace in this next journey of his, and they appreciate the times he showed up to help when they asked him to do so with little to no questions asked.
Eric is survived by his lifelong friend, Robbin O'Dell (Del); his sister, Rose Park; his brother, Tom Mino (Karyn); his nieces, Michelle Lazette (Steven), Stephanie Mauric (Trey), and Haley and Hannah Mino; and many first cousins, whose presence at family reunions and at Norma's memorial service he appreciated. He is survived, too, by his aunt, Dorothy Jonas, who prayed for him to the very end.
Eric is predeceased by his parents, Eugene T. Mino and Rosetta J. Mino (nee Jonas).
Last and definitely least (he'd want us to write that because Eric lived to play, not to work), he was employed at Nabisco before the company moved to Mexico. During this employment, he served his co-workers as a union steward.
