William Howard Mino, 79, of Grayling, MI passed away at Munson Healthcare - Grayling Hospital on May 30, 2025.
William was born in Hartford, CT to Howard and Catherine (Ballard) Mino on January 29, 1946. William graduated in the class of 65' from Cardinal Farley Military Academy in Rhinebeck, NY. He married Donna Gail Dupuis in February of 67'. They had a son together, their one and only in 1967. William served in the US Army during the Vietnam War from 1969-1971. After his service, he went on to ballooning and being a balloon pilot. After that, he even was a paraglider.
He then worked for 15+ years at JC Penny in New Jersey and also in Kalamazoo, MI to end that part of his career. He then worked in the Department of Corrections in Port Jervis, NY until his retirement in 2011.
William loved reading which included John Sandford books, especially the Virgil Flowers series. He also loved everything Bigfoot, being the Sasquatch phenomenon. He also enjoyed watching the WWF/WWE wrestling on television and liked to listen to Gordon Lifghtfoot music.
William is survived by his son, Brian Mino of Grayling, MI; nephew and nieces, Stephen (Eryn) Sebelius of Henderson, NV, Debbie (Randy) S Mino-Crews of Siltz, CO, and Katie (Shaun) Sojka-Sowers of Cherryhill, NJ; sister, Pansy Mino-Sojka of Mt. Laurel, NJ; grand-nephew, Nick Crews of Greer, SC; and many cousins. He is preceded by his parents, niece Amy Sebelius of Hunting Beach, CA and sister Jean Mino-Sebelius of Huntington Beach, CA.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will take place at a later date.
