Eric Bert Moon

Eric Bert Moon, 77, of Lebanon, died Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at his residence.
He was the husband of Marthalynn Ruth (Hoffman) Moon.
Born in Watsontown, PA on May 21, 1947, he was a son of the late Elwood B. and Elva R. (Feaster) Moon.
A graduate of Warrior Run High School, he attended Elizabethtown College. Eric served 11 years in the U.S. Army as a commissioned officer, leaving the PA National Guard as captain in 1978. His military service includes four years active duty with the Corps of Engineers. He was employed as an insurance salesman for MetLife. He served as secretary/treasurer of Professional Life Underwriters, and assisted with the Lebanon County Softball Umpires Association by umpiring softball in men's and women's leagues. Eric also worked as a correctional officer at the Lebanon County Prison, and worked in security at Hershey Park. He was a member of the NRA, enjoyed fishing, doing photography, and going to his family cabin.
In addition to his wife, Eric is survived by sons, M. Shawn, husband of Julie Moon, of Elysburg, Shane Eric, husband of Vickie Moon, of State College; stepdaughter, Susan Fernsler, wife of Gary Fett, of Lebanon; stepson, William Wunderlich, III, of Palmyra; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Carol, wife of John German, of Lock Haven; and two nephews.
A viewing will be held for family and friends. Interment will be private. Following interment, a gathering will be held at 1016 Greiner St., Lebanon, PA 17042.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the VA Medical Center, 1700 S. Lincoln Ave., Lebanon, PA 17042.
