Eric Wayne Neese - cherished father, grandfather, and friend - entered eternal rest on July 22, 2025; he was 60 years old.
Eric began life's journey on August 22, 1964, the son of the late Byron and Laura Mae Neese. Though currently a resident of Fairmount, he was born, raised, and worked in Elwood. A 1984 graduate of Elwood Community High School, he was a proud Panther who served as the football team manager. Following school, Eric had the opportunity to hold positions at several Elwood business through the years, including State Plating and Pizza King.
Eric was a simple, hardworking everyman. Never one to sit around, he loved to be out and about finding something to do, whether it be walking the midway at Glass Festival, attending Bulldogs concerts, or engaging in his favorite pastime, fishing in Yellow Creek. When he was at home, he enjoyed a quiet game of solitaire or watching sports; he was a fan of IU, Notre Dame, and the Colts, and he also had a special place in his heart for WWE pro-wrestling. Eric was a pet-lover with an artistic side, and he was known for his sense of punctuality. He was greatly beloved by his family and friends, and his memory and spirit will continue to touch their hearts in the coming years.
Eric is survived by his two daughters, Erika (Kyle Lewis) Neese of Kokomo and Kaylee (Aaron Capps) Neese of Elwood. He is also survived by his fiancé, Dawn Clark; his grandchildren, Brayden, Jared, Jonny, Kizen, Logan, Madison, Nicholas, and Wyatt; his brother, David; many close friends; and his special canine companion, Milky Way.
Along with his parents, Eric was preceded in death by a sister, Cindy.
Services have been entrusted to Dunnichay Funeral Home of Elwood, Indiana, and the family's wishes were for Eric to be cremated. A visitation and celebration of life will be held from 11:00am to 1:00pm on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at the funeral home.
The family and Dunnichay's welcome any memories, photos, and condolences for Eric; they can be shared on his Remember Page at www.dunnichayfuneralhome.com
