Eric "Nick" Nicholas Fillback, born on December 10, 1973, in Dayton, passed away on July 24, 2025 at the Soin Medical Center. A 1993 graduate of Fairborn High School, Nick was known for his athleticism, participating in a myriad of sports, including wrestling, football, and softball. His active lifestyle reflected a daring spirit; he was unfazed by challenges and was admired for his zest for life.
Nick's personality was marked by a notable sense of humor, as he thrived on making those around him laugh. He truly marched to the beat of his own drum, embodying a unique and exuberant approach to life that endeared him to many.
He is survived by his beloved daughter, Brooklyn, and his parents, Scott and Debbie (Williams) Fillback. Nick also leaves behind his brother and sister-in-law, Jason and Cathy Fillback, and his sister and brother-in-law, Kelly and Steve VanGorder. In addition, he cherished the role of uncle to Cydney, Stephanie, Avery, Tyler, and Silas.
Nick is preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
A memorial gathering to honor Eric "Nick" Nicholas Fillback will be held on Tuesday July 29, 2025, from 11:00 AM until 12:00 noon at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home located at 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, OH 45324. His memory will be celebrated, and he will be remembered for the indelible mark he left on all who had the privilege to know him.
