In Loving Memory of Eric M. Perez
Eric, 48, passed away on January 29th, 2026 after a short illness, surrounded by the people who loved him most. He was a devoted dad, a loyal friend, and someone who made an impression on everyone who crossed his path.
He was born to Marin Pete Perez and the late Mary “Flossy” Gutierrez (Gurule). He was also blessed with a second set of parents, Laurencio and the late Melecia “Mary” Lucero, who helped raise him and shaped so much of who he became. Each played a meaningful role in his life and he carried that love with him.
Eric is survived by his son, Michael Tre Perez, and Michael’s fiancé, Destiny Martinez, and Michael’s mom—his best friend—Cara Hinton Chavez. He also had three other children he loved deeply: Ticia Arvizo (Garry), Adrianna Hinton (Gilberto), and Anthony Hinton. To his grandkids—Matthew, Micah, Meilah, Chloe Jiraiya, Kehlani, and the twins Nicholas and Noah—he was their “Grampo,” and they always had so much fun when he was around.
He leaves behind a blended group of siblings: Marin “Petey” Perez Jr., Albert Noriega, Rebecca Perez, and his bonus siblings, whom he loved dearly-Paul, Ernest, and Naomi Gallegos. He also leaves behind his girlfriend, Kaitlyn Jacobs, along with many nieces, nephews, and a whole circle of friends who knew him simply as “Perez.”
Eric will be remembered for his humor, his stubborn streak, his huge heart, and the way he showed up for people without hesitation. He brought comfort just by being there, and his absence leaves a space that can’t be filled.
The family is grateful for all the prayers, love, and support during this difficult time.
Service Times will be posted once confirmed.
