Eric was born in Oxnard, CA, on September 6th, 1989, to Cornell and Linda Quintero. He lived in Oxnard for most of his life and for a few years in Simi Valley, CA. Eric was a member of New Beginnings Christian Fellowship in Simi Valley. To know Eric was to love him. He was a patient, gentle person with a good sense of humor and a heart of gold. Eric loved life, electronic music, his favorite music group Above & Beyond, watching movies with his younger cousins, playing video games, and working out at the gym, which was his home away from home! He also enjoyed watching NFL football with his family and friends and loved the San Francisco 49ers, especially his favorite player #85 George Kittle! Eric attended Rio Mesa High School, and, after being diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes, he thought that he would go into nursing. However, he changed directions and attended Simi Valley Adult School to learn welding. He was a meticulous and amazing welder who strived for perfection with his welds.
Eric was preceded in death by his beloved grandfather Benjamin Provencio, Sr., his cousins Faith Provencio and Monique Echaveste, and his aunt Leticia Taylor. Eric is survived by his father, Cornell, his mother, Linda, and his one and only brother, Steven. He is also survived by his grandmother Connie Pilar Provencio and his grandparents Jose and Florence Quintero. And finally, he is survived by his aunts Yvette Collazo (Mike) and Corrine Echaveste and his uncles: Paul Provencio (Beada), Ben Provencio (Maria), Theodore Provencio (Renee), and Gene Provencio (Telma).
Eric will be missed by his friends and family, especially his cousins Noah and Jacob, who were like little brothers to him, and his cousin Michelle, who was like a big sister to him.
