LIMA - Eric M. Rex, 45, passed away at 9:02 a.m. on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at Mercy Health St. Rita's.
Eric was born on September 22, 1979, in Lima, Ohio, to James Michael and Mary Colleen (Hershberger) Rex.
Eric worked as an upholsterer at Rex Seat Covers. He enjoyed gaming, fishing, Columbus Blue Jacket hockey, and traveling and adventuring with his family. He loved animals, with the red panda being his favorite. For his last birthday, he was able to experience a Red Panda Adventure, where he got to get up close and interact with them. Eric was also an organ and tissue donor.
He is survived by his father, J. Michael Rex of Lima, OH; daughter, Susan Rex of Bowling Green, OH; sister Melissa Adkins; and brother, Steve Rex. He was preceded in death by his mother, and brother-in-law, Anthony Adkins.
The family will receive friends from 2 – 6 p.m. on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio. A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Salvation Army.
