Eric Lynn Spady, Sr., 63, of New Church, Virginia, peacefully departed this life at his home on September 5, 2025. He was born on May 21, 1962, in Northampton County, Virginia, to the late Yvonne Spady and Bennie Gray.

Eric was educated in the Northampton County Public School system and dedicated many years of service at Tyson Foods poultry plant, where he was known for his reliability and strong work ethic.

Eric shared 42 wonderful years of marriage with his devoted wife, Josephine Spady. Together, they built a loving family and a strong legacy. He was a proud father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

A man of faith, Eric was a devoted member of Miracle Deliverance Tabernacle in Pocomoke, MD. Outside of work and church, he enjoyed building model cars and trucks, spending time with family, and cheering on his beloved Philadelphia Eagles-especially when they proudly brought home their last Super Bowl victory.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Yvonne Spady; father, Bennie Gray; son, Marcus Spady; brother, Cleothus Spady; and grandmother, Ellen Jones.

Left to cherish a lifetime of memories are his devoted wife, Josephine Spady; his children Montrolus (Alberita) Chisum of Pocomoke, MD, Tamika (Arnold) Coston of Middletown, DE, and Eric (Varena) Spady, Jr. of Delmar, DE; eleven grandchildren-Devron Collick, Breionta Chisum, Elijah Spady, Elijah Mears, Ja'Leah Spady, Victoria Spady, Jennifer Coston, Kayla Spady, Gregory Coston, Nova Spady, and Tiana Spady; beloved great-granddaughter Hazel Scott; one brother, Marvin (Dora) Spady; four sisters-Antoinette Spady Collins, Rhonda Spady, Valerie (Keith) Burton Savage, and Leslie (Marvin) Burton Giddens; as well as two aunts and two uncles; his godchild, Montel Baines; brothers-in-law, Albert (Dorothy) Chisum and Linwood (Sherleen) Harmon; and sisters-in-law, Nancy Collins, Rosa (Louis) Duncan, Debbie Davis, and Linda Farrow. He also leaves behind his special friend, Ira Farrow; his faithful fur baby, "Raven"; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family who will cherish his memory.

"Spady," as he was affectionately called, will be remembered for his devotion to God, his love for family, and his joyful spirit. His legacy of faith, strength, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
