SHOREWOOD-Eric M. Stalf, 47, of Shorewood, Illinois, formerly of Rock Island, Illinois, peacefully passed away on Saturday, October 9, 2021, at Loyola University Medical Center, Maywood, Illinois.
Services are 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 20, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. Visitation is 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the family, for a fund to be established in Eric's memory.
Eric Michael Stalf was born February 15, 1974, in Moline, to Steven and Patti Jo (Hess) Stalf. He graduated from Rock Island High School and married the love of his life, Jill Lopez, on November 13, 1999, in Rock Island. He worked for Kone for over 22 years.
He was a member of International Union of Elevator Constructors Local 2 in Chicago. He enjoyed cooking, riding his bike, and reading newspapers. He was an avid sports fan, especially of the Chicago Cubs and Bears. Above all else, family was the most important thing to Eric, and he especially loved game nights.
Eric is survived by his beloved wife, Jill; three daughters, Carrington Lopez of Milan, Autumn Stalf of Shorewood, and Ellen Stalf of Shorewood; mother and step-father, Patti and James Carlson of Silvis; father and step-mother, Steven and Linda Stalf of Rock Island; grandmother, Pat Hess of Silvis; siblings, Lanson Stalf, Shelby (John) Groot, and Emily Kahl; father-in-law, John Lopez of East Moline; sisters-in-law, Jennifer Rolls, and Joni Lopez; brothers-in-law, John and Joseph Lopez; nieces and nephews, Sarah, Lindsey, Caleb, Alexis, Miah, Zachory, Connor, Jude, Caleb, Nathan, Gavin, Kaiden, and Christian; and his beloved dogs, Scout and Rocky. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Quinn Hess, and mother-in-law, Janet Lopez.
