Eric Tweet Obituary

Visit the Christy-Smith Funeral Homes - Morningside Chapel website to view the full obituary.

Eric Jay Tweet, 67, was born to Earnest and Mary Anne Tweet on May 4, 1958, in Sioux City, IA. After a long, hard fought battle with cancer, he passed on December 15, 2025, with his loving wife by his side at Avera Oncology in Sioux Falls, SD.

Eric graduated from North High School in 1976. He was married to Sue Becker and they had 3 children, they later divorced. He then married Peggy Goddard and gained 5 stepchildren that he became very close to as they opened their arms with unconditional love and respect.

Eric’s career included Terra Nitrogen (now CF Industries) and Iowa Fertilizer Company in Fort Madison, Iowa, where he retired as the Plant Safety Coordinator. Within his career, he built and gained many long-lasting friendships that he truly treasured.

He was an avid outdoors man, always wanting that “bigger buck” or that “bigger walleye,” there was not an animal, fish or bird that he did not know. He recently re-established his love for Pheasant hunting with his grandsons, Radyn, Devin, and Tyson and his bass fishing buddy Rigg. He dawdled in Taxidermy and had many fish, and deer mounts out there for people to admire.

Those he left behind include his loving wife, Peggy and their fur baby Bells; sons Eric Joe, and Aaron; daughter, Kelsey (Josh); stepchildren Amber (Dave), Nathan, Ashley (Steve), Arika (Chris), and Aimee (Ashley/Sheila); grandchildren Evan, Noah, Calyx, Zaylie, Grayson, Devin, Tyson, Ayden, Avereigh, Isaac, Rhyan, Radyn, Rivyr, and Rigg; great grandson Jax, brother Ernie (Gretchen); sisters Alana and Lisa; father-in-law Eugene Kudera, brother-in-law Kim; sisters-in-law Cheryl (Dan) and Marcia; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

In Eric’s Honor, camo would be very appropriate. A memorial will be held on 10:00 am, May 2, 2026, at Christy-Smith Funeral Homes (Morningside Chapel).
