Donald Tweet Obituary
October 16, 1955 - February 21, 2025
Donald K. Tweet, 69, of Ashland, NE, entered into rest on Friday, February 21, 2025 at Bergan Mercy Medical Center in Omaha, NE. He was born October 16, 1955 in Waterloo, IA to Kenneth and Lenora (Ostrem) Tweet. Don graduated from Waterloo West High School. He received an associate degree from Waldorf University and a bachelor's degree from Iowa State University.
Don worked as an insurance adjuster for many years. He worked for Cox Pierce in Omaha for 13 years and then retired from Custard Insurance Adjusters after 15 years. He was a member of Word of Hope Lutheran Church and a longtime member of the Ashland Rotary Club. He was a past member of the Nebraska Claims Association where he served as a past president.
Don enjoyed baseball and watching all sports. He also enjoyed playing softball on his church softball team. As a music enthusiast, Don loved attending jazz concerts and blues festivals.
He is survived by children: Ann (Aaron) Clare, William Tweet and Claire Byers; granddaughter, Rose Clare; siblings, Kathy (Ross) Jones and Jim Tweet; niece and nephew, Emily (Jason) Tieskoetter and Ben (Sarah) Jones; many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his stillborn daughter, Elizabeth Tweet; parents, Kenneth and Lenora Tweet.
Funeral Service, Friday (2/28/2025) 11:00 a.m., at Word of Hope Lutheran Church, 157 S. 22nd St., Ashland, NE.
Officiant, Pastor Wilson Metz.
Visitation, Thursday (2/27/2025) 5:00-8:00 p.m., at Marcy Mortuary, Ashland, NE.
Memorials to the Ashland Rotary Club or Waldorf University, Forest City, IA.

I remember the school days with Don at Kitrell and West high. Just saw him at School reunion and at his cousins funeral,so sad to see him pass away
