Eric Lamar White, born on December 19, 1970, in Alabama, departed this life on July 12, 2025, in Newport News, at the age of 54. He was a man of dedication and service, both in his professional career and personal endeavors.
Eric served with honor in the United States Navy, where he earned numerous commendations reflecting his commitment and excellence. His honors include the Good Conduct Medal (five times), the Meritorious Unit Commendation, the Joint Meritorious Unit Award (twice), the Navy Unit Commendation, the Southwest Asia Service Medal (twice), the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (twice), and the Navy & Marine Corps Overseas Service Ribbon. These accolades stand as a testament to his distinguished military career and unwavering dedication to his country.
Following his service, Eric worked as an Answering Service Operator, where he applied the same diligence and professionalism that characterized his time in the Navy.
Beyond his professional life, Eric had a profound love for animals and enjoyed spending time dining and shopping with his loved ones. His interests brought joy to those around him, and he found happiness in simple pleasures shared with family and friends.
Eric is preceded in death by his father, Major Lee Florence, and his grandmother, Elnora White. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Hopenes White, who cherished their time together and supported him throughout his life.
Eric Lamar White will be remembered for his service, his passions, and the love he gave to those fortunate enough to know him. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
