Obituary for Erik J. Couch
Carmel, Indiana - Erik J. Couch, 48, passed away on Monday, November 17, 2025, in Carmel, Indiana.

He was born on August 7, 1977, to the late Claude E. Couch Jr. and Pamela J. (Bennett) Couch. His mother survives in Fairmount, Indiana.

Erik was a proud graduate of Madison-Grant High School, Class of 1995, and went on to earn his Bachelor's degree in Industrial Management from Purdue University in 2000. He worked for many years as an IT Administrator, dedicating himself to his profession with a strong work ethic.

Erik had many hobbies and passions. He never missed watching a Purdue football or basketball game, and loved to host friends to watch the games together. Erik was a wonderful chef and enjoyed perfecting new recipes as well as making extravagant meals for his friends and family. He also loved trying new restaurants and then recreating those dishes, even better than the restaurant had made it. Erik enjoyed gardening and every spring he planted hundreds of flowers to make the back yard a beautiful oasis. Erik loved his children, Nathan Claude and Julia Marianna Couch, and enjoyed watching their soccer games, theater performances, gymnastics meets, swim meets and cheerleading for football and basketball.

On August 24, 2002, Erik married Holly McCray, who survives him. In addition to his wife and children, Erik is survived by his loving mother, Pamela Couch.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Celebration Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 415 S. Main St., Fairmount, IN 46928.

A life celebration service will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 1:00 PM at the funeral home, with friends invited to gather beginning at 12:00 Noon to share memories of Erik.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Erik's memory to a charity of the family's choice.
