Erik Alan Fleenor of Longmont, Colorado, passed away after a long and hard fought battle with ALS. Erik was born April 27, 1975 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Jerry and Marsha (Ingman) Fleenor.
Erik graduated from Grand Blanc High School in 1993. He worked many years as a carpenter in the construction industry. He moved to Colorado fourteen years ago to explore his love for the outdoors. His companion for many years was Madeline "Maddy" his dog, whom he took to work with him every day and shared many adventures with. Erik also had many friends, and together they enjoyed off-roading and riding around in Jeeps. He loved to snowboard and ski, and talked often about the good times he had in the mountains.
Erik loved his family, and held his friends dear. They came from Michigan and Las Vegas to visit him in Colorado, spent many an hour on the phone with him encouraging him when he was home- or hospital- bound, laughed with him, cried with him, and yelled with him as ALS took its toll on his body. Through Erik's family and friends, his big personality is evident and will live on.
Left to cherish his memory are his parents Jerry and Marsha Fleenor of Colorado, brother Kevin Fleenor of Colorado, nephew Kieran Fleenor of Michigan, nephews Mason and Miles and niece Isabella of Tennessee, and many aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his brother Jason Fleenor, grandparents Jesse F. and Lakie E. Fleenor, and grandparents Albert W. and Pauline M. Ingman. Special thanks to Uncle Tod and Aunt Laura Sorensen, and his close friends who provided so much help through these difficult times.
