Erin Bready

Erin Bready, 37, of South Bend, a loving fiancé to David Schoen, passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at Memorial Hospital of South Bend.
Born on April 7, 1987, in Carmel, NY, to Colleen and William (Bill) Bready, Erin grew up in Mahopac, NY, and graduated from Mahopac High School in 2005. After earning her Cosmetology License, she dedicated herself to helping others feel beautiful inside and out. Later, she pursued her passion for care giving by earning her Nursing degree at Westchester Community College and began a fulfilling career in nursing, bringing care and comfort to all those around her.
In 2024, Erin met her soul mate, David. Though their time together was brief, it was filled with immeasurable love, joy, and laughter. David brought light to Erin's life, and she to his, in a way that will forever be cherished.
Erin will be remembered most for her unwavering selflessness and compassion. Whether with her family, her clients, her patients, or even strangers, Erin always placed others' needs above her own. Her generous heart and kind spirit touched everyone she encountered. To know Erin was to love Erin.
Her radiant smile reflected her inner beauty and had the power to transform an ordinary moment into something extraordinary. It left lasting warmth in the hearts of all who experienced it, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who loved her.
Erin shared her love, kindness, and joy with countless people. She adored long hikes with her beloved dogs, Flint and Rackem, treasured time spent making memories with her cousins, and found joy in savoring her favorite sauvignon blanc. She cherished her godson, Cameron, and loved visiting her mother and stepfather, Chris, in Tennessee. Above all, Erin delighted in laughing and sharing moments with her friends and family. Her infectious laugh could light up any room and remains a testament to the beautiful soul she was.
Erin was predeceased by her beloved Aunt Jackie, who surely welcomed her with open arms in Heaven. She is survived by her fiancé, David; her parents, Colleen (and stepfather Chris) and Bill; her brother and best friend, Billy (Stephanie and godson Cameron); her Aunt Kelly (Chris); Uncle Nicky; Aunt Betty-Ann; Aunt Barbara-Ann; Uncle Robert (Bobby); cousins Katia, Shannon (Charles), Marie (Riggs), Michael, and AJ; and many other family members and friends who loved her deeply.
A Memorial Visitation will be held on Friday, January 31, 2025 at Cargain Funeral Home, 418 Route 6 (GPS US-6), Mahopac, NY from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
A Prayer Service & Blessing to honor and celebrate Erin's life will take place during the visitation at 6:00 p.m.
Private cremation has taken place.
