In Loving Memory of Erin Capotosto
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of Erin Capotosto, a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. At the age of 45, Erin left us far too soon, leaving behind a legacy of laughter and love. Erin Capotosto passed away by the side of her beloved husband Joe on August 11th following her valiant fight against an aggressive and untreatable brain tumor. She will forever be cherished for the amazing woman she was. Erin was the loving mother to Liam and Aria, devoted wife and best friend to her husband Joe, admired daughter to her parents Michelle and Bob, close sister to her brother Mike, and kind daughter-in-law to Rachel and Bob. She was also the funniest friend of so many who loved her.
Erin possessed an innate ability to bring people together, bridging gaps and fostering connections that enriched the lives of everyone she encountered. With her sarcastic wit and quick humor, she could effortlessly turn even the most mundane moments into unforgettable memories. She will be remembered for her classic eye roll, upfront honesty, and her dedication to making the best of every day. Her laughter was infectious, and her ability to find fun in every situation made her a magnet for positive people and joyful experiences.
Erin was born in 1978 to Bob and Michelle Carroll and raised in the town of North Attleboro, Massachusetts. As a child, Erin attended public schools, played soccer, and enjoyed bossing around her younger brother Mike. She graduated from North Attleboro High School in 1996 and headed to Merrimack College, where she received her degree in 2000. She met Joe Capotosto in 2007. They decided to marry and start a family together in Wilmington, Massachusetts.
As a devoted wife to Joe and mother to Liam and Aria, Erin poured her heart and soul into her family. She instilled in her children the values of compassion and resilience, as well as the importance of finding humor in life's twists and turns. Erin loved her community of Wilmington and embraced small-town traditions.
Erin had a talent for making everything beautiful. She had a passion for home improvement and HGTV. She loved the smell of new hardwood floors and had a talent for selecting paint colors and countertops. Her friends loved shopping with her because of her honest opinions and eye for style. Erin worked in retail management for many years. Her drive and realistic perspective made her a respected colleague and mentor to many. Most recently, she changed careers to work with the aging population at The Cambridge Homes, finding happiness in helping seniors find supportive community living. This shift in occupation made her think often of her beloved grandmother Meme. No doubt they are in heaven enjoying dirty martinis together now.
Erin's favorite place was the beach and she would wear flip-flops long into the fall months. She loved seafood; lobster and steamers were her favorites. After her cancer diagnosis, family and friends gathered with her on Ogunquit Beach to celebrate her life and share a final day of sun and sand.
Erin's memory will forever live in the hearts of her family, friends, and community. Her legacy will continue to inspire us to approach life with humor, kindness, and the willingness to roll up our sleeves and create a more beautiful world. Though she may no longer be with us in person, her spirit will remain a guiding light, reminding us to embrace each moment with open arms and a witty quip.
Erin is survived by her husband Joe Capotosto and children Liam and Aria of Wilmington, MA. She was the cherished daughter of Michelle and Bob Carroll of Cumberland, Rhode Island, and the loving sister of Mike Carroll and his wife Lacey of San Diego, California. Erin was the beloved aunt to Tawney Sharrer, Declan and Oliver Carroll, and Joseph, Jake and Nicholas DiCicco. She was the loving daughter-in-law to Robert and Rachel (Penna) Capotosto and sister-in-law of Lauren Capotosto. Erin leaves countless dear friends and extended family.
Funeral Services will be held at the Cota Funeral Home, 335 Park St., North Reading (Corner of Park St. and Rt. 28 at the Reading Line) on Friday, August 18, 2023 at 10:00am followed by a funeral mass to celebrate Erin's Life at St. Theresa's Church, 63 Winter St., North Reading at 11:00am. Hi My Erin, today marks two years since you have been gone. We love and miss you SO much. It hasn´t gotten any easier. Just going through the motions with this brain fog that I can´t shake. The kids hold it together but they are hurting deep down. Please help me watch over these kids. We´re always thinking of you. I´ll never be able to make sense why you and great people like you are taken so young.

Love you always,

Your Joe

Happy Birthday my sweet Wife. We love and miss you so much. Me and the kids are always talking about you and some of the things we did as a family or we guess What would mom do or say when we come across an issue to figure out. I´m still shocked we lost you. I´m so sorry this was the one battle we couldn´t overcome no matter how hard we fought. Losing you will haunt me forever. Life is so strange and unfair. Year 2 has been harder without you. This life without you sucks to be honest. The heartbreak and anger is intense. I keep telling myself it´s just a temporary separation. I keep praying that you will be the first to greet me when it´s my turn to leave this miserable world. I´m always counting down to be with you.

Love always

Joe
