Erin McDermott, 55, was born and lived all her life in Columbus, Indiana. Erin passed from this life peacefully surrounded by family on the evening of Monday, April 11, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Erin entered life on May 17, 1966, in Columbus, the daughter of Beverly and Kenneth McDermott.
Erin was the proud and loving mother of Brandi Hahn (Michael), of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Brayden Barthlow, stationed in the Air Force at Luke Air Force Base in Arizona. She also was the loved sister of Kevin McDermott (Kristi).
Erin graduated from Columbus High School. She worked 20 years at her father's business, McDermott Tool, as a buyer. She was instrumental in the success of the business.
Erin's most enjoyable pleasure was having her grandchildren, Peyton, and Ryleigh (Brandi's children) for the weekend. She had a love for music and enjoyed going to concerts all throughout her life passing this activity on to her daughter. She loved sports and going to games with her family. She also loved taking trips with her parents and fishing in new places. In addition, Erin was an animal lover who adored her three cats who provided great company for her.
Erin's family invites you to her Celebration of Life gathering beginning at 12:00, noon, until service time at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 19 at First Lutheran Church, 3600 25th Street, Columbus, IN. Pastor Larry Isbell will officiate the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society in Erin's honor or to the place of the donor's choice.
