Erin J. Tobias, 38, of Sinking Spring, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 20, 2025, in the Reading Hospital. Erin was the beloved mother of three beautiful children, and was also a loving, supportive daughter, adored her fiancé and the father of two of her children, and was a friend to many. Erin quickly became friends with people she met through life and through her passion of working in the automotive industry over the years.
Erin was a bright light to those who had the privilege of knowing her. She was a dedicated mother who cherished every moment with her children. Erin's love for her two sons -Nolan Benjamin Chicu and Jameson David Sallada – and their new addition, baby girl Birdie Rachell Sallada, was immeasurable. To her family, Erin was the heart and soul of their home; her laughter, her care, and her nurturing spirit made everyone's life brighter. She looked forward to the upcoming wedding to her partner in life and soulmate, Austen Sallada. Though time with her family was far too short, her love and spirit will carry them through every step of their lives.
Erin graduated from Exeter Senior High School in 2005, and attended classes at Bloomsburg University. She currently worked as a Service Lead at Reading Bobcat and was also master-certified in several lead automotive brands. She made a difference in the lives of everyone she helped.
Erin loved the outdoors, especially in the Fall, and also loved spending time with her family and shopping. She was funny and kind, generous and strong. Erin was the kind of person who could make you laugh in the hardest of moments and yet somehow find the time to help everyone else in need. Her humor and kindness were apparent to everyone, and her strength carried more people than she would have ever realized. Erin will be deeply missed by those lucky enough to have known her.
Erin was the beloved daughter of Robin Rachell (Myers) Hivner of Spring Township, PA, and Joel Peter Tobias of Bolton, CT. She is also survived by her step-father John Hivner, step-brothers Jason Hivner (Maria), and Christopher Hivner (Jennifer), a step-mother Lisa Tobias in CT, grandparents Ede Phillips (Ed) and Bob Myers (Betty), her fiancé's parents Brian and Jen Sallada, who were a big presence in Erin and the children's lives, Grandmother Mary Sallada of Reading, PA., and Austen's sister, Sierra Sallada Kalyan (Mike). Sierra was truly like a sister to Erin and Erin loved that connection. In addition to her immediate family, Erin is also survived by her very good friend Rachel Painter of Exeter Township, PA. They were steadfast friends who were often found together through thick and thin.
While we grieve the loss of such a vibrant and loving soul, we also celebrate Erin's legacy-her unwavering strength, her profound love for her family, and her enduring spirit. Rest in Peace, Erin. You will forever be missed, but your love will live on in the hearts of your children and all fortunate to know you.
