David A. Weidenhammer, 81, of Maidencreek Twp., passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2024 in Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center. He was the husband of Patricia A. (Birney) Weidenhammer, who died November 27, 2023.
Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Clarence and Frances (Palsgrove) Weidenhammer. David was a graduate of Exeter Township High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. David worked as a maintenance mechanic for Cambridge-Lee Industries. He was a maintenance mechanic by day, auto mechanic by night. David enjoyed racing and watching TV.
David is survived by his two sons: Robert W. Weidenhammer, Sr., husband of Cynthia (Reinoehl) Weidenhammer, Fleetwood; and David A. Weidenhammer, Jr., Maidencreek Twp.; and two grandchildren: Robert W. Weidenhammer, Jr., and Emma J. Weidenhammer. He was predeceased by two sisters: Judy and Cindy Weidenhammer.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Berks County Memorial Gardens. Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., Leesport is in charge of arrangements. For online condolences, please visit, www.leibenspergerfuneralhomes.com.

We all are grateful for your stepping up to the plate when your country needed you the most. America thanks you for your service to our country in the defense of freedom. The final bugle has sounded and taps is about to sound ending a successful career as a nation“s defender. Farewell fellow war veteran.
