Erma V. May, 91, of Manheim, died peacefully on Friday, December 26, 2025 at Pleasant View Communities. Born in Elizabethtown, she was the daughter of the late, Guy A. and Myrtie Fansler May. Erma was the loving wife of the late, George H. May, Sr. who died in October 2014 following 63 years of marriage. In 1951 Erma graduated from Manheim Central High School. For over 35 years Erma was employed as a machine operator at Warner Lambert, Lititz. She was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manheim, where she was a member of the Daughters of Zion Women’s Fellowship. Erma enjoyed traveling with her husband to Kissimmee, FL in the winter months, and camping at Sandy Cove. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, and also liked to do counted cross-stitch.
Surviving is a son George H. Jr. husband of Cathy May of Manheim, a daughter, Sandra J. wife of Eric Pennell of Henderson, NV, nine grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. Preceding her in death is a brother, John F. May, a sister, Edna Barto and a great grandson.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Erma’s Life Celebration Service at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2 South Hazel Street, Manheim, on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at 11:00 AM. Friends may visit with the family at the church on Tuesday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be private in Manheim Fairview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent in Erma’s memory to: Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2 South Hazel Street, Manheim, PA 17545.
