Vera A. Miller

Vera A. Miller, 92, of Manheim, PA, went home to be with the Lord on _____, at Penn Medicine Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Mount Joy, she was the daughter of the late Howard G. and Helen I. (Barrick) Smith. She was the loving wife of Mervin S. Miller for 43 years in June. They met while working at the former Mount Joy Shoe factory.

Vera retired from the former Children's Hospital in Elizabethtown, where she worked in the laundry department for many years. Vera was a member of Glossbrenner United Methodist Church in Mount Joy. She was a soft-spoken woman, good homemaker and recently enjoyed spending time reading magazines.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Donna, wife of John Hill of Cape Coral, FL; a stepson, Gary, husband of Cheryl (Whitney) Miller, of Lancaster; two grandchildren; two step grandchildren; one great grandchild and two step great grandchildren; and a brother, James, husband of Donna Smith of Maytown. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Jane Gibbs and Patricia "Patsy" Warfel.
