Dr. Elvin L. Martin

Dr. Elvin L. Martin, 87, of Lancaster, PA, formerly of Hagerstown, MD and Meyersdale, PA, went home to be with the Lord on Monday morning, August 11, 2025 at Neffsville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Samuel K. and Iva P. (Martin) Martin. Elvin was the husband of Esther M. (Horst) Martin for 67 years prior to her death in 2022.

Elvin was a member of Willow Street Mennonite Church in Willow Street. He was a well-respected family physician for many years, delivering over 1500 babies with the assistance of his wife.

He is survived by his daughter, Heidi, wife of Brian Walker, of Millersville; six grandchildren, Carrie (Charles, III) Kurtz, parents of Rorie, of Millersville, Alaina (Jordan) Kirsch, parents of Owen and Everlee, of Harrisburg, Matthew Walker, Ryan Walker (fiancé of Madison Wissler, of Millersville, and Meagan and Mackenzie Walker of Millersville; and a brother, Donald (the late Ellen) Martin of Washington, DC. He was also preceded in death by four siblings, Samuel Martin, Mary Eby, Aletha Martin, and Vesta Martin.

Services are private with interment in Willow Street Mennonite Cemetery.
