Sherrie, Peter and all loved ones of "Our Erma". Please accept my deepest sympathy in you loss. After "JUJU" Erma was the one who could remember all the wonderful family memories. I thank God for her smile, hospitality to those sent her way. She never met a stranger and I never heard her say anything bad about anyone. Long live the beautiful memories of her generous spirit. Love to all of you and may God continue to hold you in the palm of his hand.

Mother Mazingo was a wonderful woman and I truly enjoyed meeting her. She was present at my engagement party and was the life of the party. She made me laugh the entire night and kept us entertained with funny stories and truths about life. I feel blessed to have met her, even for a short time.

Erma was indeed "family" to us (Gil Rogness's daughters), in so many ways. When Dad was in the advanced stages of Alzheimer's, Erma drove over to have lunch with us. She made Dad laugh, and for that brief moment he was able to recall the wonderful life they had when they worked together. She had no doubts about him remembering her, even with the dementia...and of course she was right. I will always consider it a wonder gift to our family, that we were blessed with so many years of having her in our lives. She was beautiful, charming, funny, charismatic, and she always managed to make you feel like you were special to her. Her passing is a huge loss for so many of us. But, Erma will always live on in my heart as an amazing gift to cherish, and for that I am indeed very grateful.

To Erma's Family,
I knew Erma professionally while she worked at Northern States Agency. She was always a pleasure to work with and she always tried extra hard to get something done for a person. She had a great sense of humor and was a very hard worker in my estimation, she made the Insurance business just a little more fun because of her positive attitude. Very sorry to hear of her passing.

Erma was a delight. I can't imagine thinking of her without a smile spreading across my face. I am lucky to have met her, as is my husband and especially my 5-yr-old daughter. I will miss her spark.

I am so saddened, and shocked, by Erma's sudden death. I last saw her at my father's funeral last January. Gil Rogness was her boss for 32 and a half years, and as she said, it was the one of the greatest pleasures of her life.
Erma was sociable, colorful, extroverted, loved to laugh. She came to speak to my English class in high school, when we were studying African American authors.
I was always impressed by her presidency of local NAACP.
As my dad said, everyone knew Erma - she was a great ambassador for Northern States Agency.
I still remember her driving up in her Cadillac, wearing her full-length mink, wearing her trademark Shalimar perfume, at my father's wake. He would have smiled from heaven, at the spectacle.
We will miss her.

Our family was very sad to learn of Erma's passing. I felt as if I grew up with Erma as one of Gil's "girls" at Northern States Agency. Her laugh was so infectious and she carried herself with so much style. Please accept our condolences on behalf of myself and my family. She was one of a kind. To The Mazingo Family,
Please accept my most heartfelt sympathy for your loss.
I knew Erma through my membership with "St. Paul Association of Insurance Professionals" and loved her dearly.
I last saw Erma at our June 8th meeting, we chatted and I gave her a hug and patted her face, little did I know that it would be the last time I would be able to do that.
May God wrap his loving arms around all of you and comfort all of you in these most difficult days ahead.

Erma has been a dear friend of mine through the St. Paul Assn. of Insurance Women. We sit together every month at the meetings. I have been to her home for dinner and shared many a laugh with her. I will truly miss her wonderful smile and giving heart. Erma will live on in my memories and will never be forgotten.
