Gary Eugene Mazingo, age 77, died in his home in Aurora, CO on July 24th, 2025. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1966. Gary retired after 26 years of service in various posts around the world, including many years in Europe, and served in the Vietnam Conflict. During his years of service, Gary moved up through the ranks ultimately achieving the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. He was an avid fan of the Denver Broncos and in his free time enjoyed using his metal detector to search for treasure, outdoor hunting and fishing, and was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Gary is survived by his wife Linda, sons Gary (Nikki), Kevin (Diann), Kerry (Randi) and Michael (Jennifer), step-children Jennifer Doyle (Shawn), Adam Martik (Leslie), Lauren Hawkins (Jeremy), Hannah Griffin (Lance) and 20 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will take place on Tuesday August 5th at 11:30 AM at Horan & McConaty Funeral Home at 11150 E Dartmouth Avenue, Aurora CO 80014. Interment immediately following at 2:00 PM at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
The family welcomes you to a reception at 3:00 PM following the ceremony at Fort Logan. The reception will be held at VFW9644 – 2680 W Hampden Ave, Sheridan CO 80110.
