Ernest Barcomb Obituary
Mr. Ernest "Ronald" Barcomb, age 85, of Rome, GA, passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at his residence.
Mr. Barcomb was born in Randolph, VT, on November 18, 1940, son of the late Ernest Harold Barcomb and the late Anna Mae Menard Barcomb. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Elizabeth Terry Barcomb. Mr. Barcomb was a graduate of Randolph Union High School. After High School, he began a long and illustrious career in the printing industry that spanned over 50 years. Mr. Barcomb's crowning career achievement was beginning a printing company from scratch and developing the company to receive over $7 million in sales before his departure. He was a parishioner at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Rome.
Above all, Mr. Barcomb loved his family. They were the light of his life and his proudest moments were enjoying the fun times and watching both of his children graduate College. He adored his grandchildren and great-grandchild. Mr. Barcomb was a history fanatic and could be found reading history books whenever he had the opportunity. He was extremely proud of where he was born and found ways to support the Randoph Historical Society whenever possible. Mr. Barcomb loved to travel and loved sports (especially the Braves, Falcons, Red Sox, and both Alabama and Georgia Football). Being born in the era he was, the greatest lesson he learned in life was the value of hard work. Mr. Barcomb's time on Earth may have come to an end but we are confident he is now in the presence of his Lord and Savior for eternity.
Survivors include his two children, Janis Lyn Pearson and Brian Ronald Barcomb (Lindsey), both of Rome; five grandchildren, Matthew Pearson, Tabatha Pearson, Johnathon Pearson, Bailey Barcomb Johnson (Zach), and Kileigh Barcomb; a great-grandchild, Jake Johnson; and numerous friends whom he loved dearly.
Funeral services will be held at 3pm on Sunday, November 23, 2025, in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel, with his family (per Mr. Barcomb's orders) sharing during the service. Interment will take place at a later date at Myrtle Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2pm until service time in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Randolph, VT, Historical Society, 6 Salisbury St., Randolph, VT 05060.
