He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Suzanne Boan; his son James and daughter-in-law Dana Boan of Georgia; son Keith Boan of Neptune; grandson William Boan of Georgia; grandson Nicholas Boan and granddaughter Brianna Boan of River Side; nieces and nephews, Curtis, Eric, Carrie, Jennifer, Anne, Alex and Christina and his great nieces and nephews.
Ernest received his A.A. from Mercer County Community College in 1968 in Art/Architecture. In 1971, he earned his BA from Ohio Northern University in Art along with his Teaching Certificate. He retired from New Jersey American Water Company in 2009.
Ernie enjoyed Square Dancing and the friends he made over the years, He was president of the Jersey Shore Promenaders. He also enjoyed fishing with his sons and had a lifelong interest in cars. His red 2002 Ford Thunderbird was his pride and joy.
Service will be held at the Ely Funeral Home, 3316 State Hwy. 33, Neptune, NJ on Thursday March 13, 2025 from 11AM to 1PM.
