Lucille Boan Obituary

Mrs. Mable Lucille Boan, 86, passed away Thursday, July 3, 2025 at her home. The family will receive friends on Monday, July 7, 2025 from 11:00-1:00 pm at Lakewood Baptist Church, 3520 Mt. Gallant Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732 followed by a Celebration of Life at 1:00 pm with Rev. Jerry Devinney officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park on Cherry Road. Born in Rock Hill, Mrs. Boan was the daughter of the late Otis Waldo Montgomery and the late Violet Ghant Montgomery. She is also preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Bobby Lee Boan, Sr.; brothers, Jerry Kenneth Montgomery, Otis Wayne Montgomery; her sister, Karen Montgomery Griffin; and her son, Wesley Dean Boan, Sr. She graduated from Rock Hill High School in 1957. She was a beloved member of Lakewood Baptist Church. She was known to all as "the hugger". Surviving are her son, Bobby Lee Boan, Jr. (Tammy) of Houston, TX and her daughter, Crystal Boan Hamilton (Jamie) of Rock Hill; five grandchildren, Wesley Dean Boan, Jr. of York, Laura Boan Patterson (Allen) of Lancaster, Melanie Boan of York, Amanda Boan and Chelsea Boan of Houston, TX; four great grandchildren, Jordyn Allen of Houston, TX, Violet Patterson, Amelia Patterson, Camden Patterson of Lancaster; and an honorary daughter, Debbie Boan of York. Memorials may be made in Mrs. Boan's name to Lakewood Baptist Church, Anchor Program, 3520 Mt Gallant Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732.
