Ernest "Ernie" B. Cozens III, passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at his home in Mt. Holly, NJ. He was 72. He was born in Bryn Mawr, PA; the son of the late Ernest B. Jr. and Margaret (Dechant) Cozens.
Ernie worked for 40 years at the Electronic Service Lab in Ewing, NJ, until his retirement. He had a passion for the outdoors and nature, especially the shores of New Jersey and the Endless Mountains of Pennsylvania, and he was an active conservationist of the Pinelands. He loved fly fishing, he crafted fly poles, hand tied flies, and built his own Simmons Sea Skiff. He enjoyed hiking and skiing. He was an avid woodworker and an incredible photographer.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Irene (Johnson); sons, Philip Johnson (Amanda Seymour) and Ernest Cozens IV (Savannah Tonn); and "Pop Clem" to his granddaughter, Paige; brothers, Lee (Deborah), Andrew, and Frederick Cozens; and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brother, Charles Cozens.
A celebration of life will be held for Ernie on Sunday, July 7, 2024, from 2-6pm at the Pinelands Preservation Alliance Center at the Bishop Farmstead in Southampton, NJ.
