Ernest Scott Forgey Jr.

Ernest Scott Forgey Jr. passed away on February 12, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on October 20, 1952, in Martinez, CA, to Ernest and Beverly (Bombard) Forgey and grew up in the Kansas City, Missouri area.
Ernie worked alongside his father and brothers in the construction and remodeling business during the 1980s and continued to use those skills throughout his life. He had a passion for cars, often tinkering with them and restoring his beloved '67 Camaro. Ernie was also known for his quick wit and incredible sense of humor, sharing stories and keeping everyone in the room laughing.
In addition to being an excellent handyman, Ernie was a talented musician who played the trumpet and any other instrument he could get his hands on. He often filled in with local bands for performances and deeply loved music.
Ernie was also a devoted family man with a special connection with God. Sometimes he shared his intimate encounters with the Lord with his family and friends. God; gave Ernie a song he shared with his family on one of those Occasions. "Lord, I don't have much to leave them but a few little things, so I give you these teardrops from Heaven sent down on angel's wings."
Ernie was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Forgey Sr., and his brothers, Jim and Frank Forgey, and survived by his mother, Beverly Forgey of Blue Springs, MO, and his loving wife of 38 years, Johna Forgey.
Six children also survive Ernie: Angela and Scott Highfield of Houston, TX; Jason and Melissa Forgey of Pasadena, TX; Anna and Corey Sims of Morrisville, MO; Dawn and Andrew Duncan of Republic, MO; Michelle Forgey of Springfield, MO; and Brandon Forgey of Nixa, MO.
His two brothers also survive him: Harold Forgey of Independence, MO, and Rick and Debbie Forgey of Battlefield, MO; four sisters: Lynnette Forgey of Blue Springs, MO; Annette Forgey of Sam City, MO; Lori and Jeff Lindstrom of West Palm Beach, FL; and Becky Stewart of Blue Springs, MO.
Ernie was also the proud grandfather of 12 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and many other special family members and friends.
Ernie will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his family and friends will cherish his memory.
