A Boston resident, Mr. Ernest Lee "Ernie" Hudson, age 55, passed away Friday, January 31, 2025, at University of Louisville Hospital. Ernie was born May 31, 1969, in Louisville to the late Noah and Diane Scherer Hudson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a niece, Sarai Hudson.
He was a dedicated employee of Jewell Manufacturing for 36 years. He led a faith-filled life serving the Lord as a member of the Pathway of Holiness Church in Shepherdsville. He showed his love of Jesus through his constant kindness. He loved his family, especially spoiling his grandkids. He enjoyed making everyone around him laugh. He could always be found working on a project or in his garden. He enjoyed collecting seashells on his beach trips.
He is survived by his wife, Melissa Farmer Hudson of Boston; one son, Jake Hudson of Honolulu, Hawaii; one daughter, Julie (Aaron) Robertson of Vine Grove; four sisters, Sharon (Jr.) Penix of Campbellsburg, Robin Shibley of Louisville, Sheila (Carlos) Hester of Hardinsburg, and Stephanie Cooper of Muldraugh; four brothers, Dennis Hudson of Hardinsburg, Leslie "Stevie" Hudson of Campbellsburg, and James (Lynn) Hudson and Ronald Hudson, both of Louisville; four grandchildren, Nora, Oliver, Charlotte, and Luis; and his two best friends Tim Cissell and Bro. Thomas Ingram.
Funeral services for Ernest Lee "Ernie" Hudson will be Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at 11:00am from the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home, Bro. Thomas Ingram officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Eden Cemetery in Shepherdsville. Visitation will be held Monday from 3:00pm to 8:00pm, and after 8:30am Tuesday morning. The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
