Mary Rebecca Hudson

Mary Rebecca Hudson, age 80, a resident of McCalla, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2025, in the presence of her family, who lovingly cared for her in her final months. Known to family and friends as Becky, she was a devoted Christian and lived to glorify God in all she did, both as a member of Tannehill Valley Baptist Church and as a Kindergarten teacher for 15 years at Flint Hill Baptist Church. Becky's radiant personality, quick wit, and gracious manner brought light into every room and warmth into every conversation. She served as a matriarchal figure to many, including her surviving daughters, Tammy Grosse, Lisa Martin, Amanda Brantley, and Jessica Robertson; her son, Phillip Humphries; her grandchildren, Adam Wilkins, Rebekah Wilkins, David Humphries, Madalyn Logan, and Case Logan; and her great-grandchildren, Eleanor, Hazel, and Caroline Humphries. Becky's love and friendship also blessed her beloved siblings, Carol Duncan, June Duncan, Myra McGinnis, DeLila Myers, and Ricky Miller along with countless others who cherished her presence. Her husband, Eddie Hudson and brother Russell Miller, preceded her in death. Becky's funeral service will be Friday, August 29, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Tannehill Valley Baptist Church. Family will receive friends beginning at 12:00 pm until service time. Brother Jon Reaves will officiate. Interment will follow at Hickman Chapel Cemetery. For 18 years, Becky bore the burden of illness, yet she never wavered in her devotion to Christ. We take comfort in the words of Scripture, which states, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing." (2 Timothy 4:7–8). Though our hearts are heavy, we rejoice that Becky has faithfully finished her race. She now rests in the joy of Heaven, reunited with her beloved husband, Eddie, and her faith and love will continue to guide us until we, too, are called home.
