Ernest (Ernie) Joseph LeTourneau, Jr, age 84, passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at his home with his loving wife, Mona, by his side. Ernie was born in Grand Forks, North Dakota on December 30, 1939, and currently resided in Edgewater, Florida. Ernie was a graduate of Minneapolis High School in 1958. After High School, Ernie enlisted in the Marine Corp and served until his Honorable Discharge in 1962. He was a proud Marine until the day he died. Ernie was employed in Commercial Tire Sales for approximately 40 years where he received the Million Dollar Club award year after year as top salesman.
Ernie married Mona McFarland, the love of his life, in 1995. Their years of happy marriage were spent traveling to many locations: Alaska, Hawaii, Costa Rica, Bermuda, the Dominican Republic, Mexico, and multiple islands in the Caribbean, as well as weekend trips in their motorhome. They loved their adventures together and those memories will linger on with Mona for the rest of her life. Ernie was an avid golfer and loved the challenge of playing difficult courses with his golf buddies. While living in Nashville, he enjoyed boating and camping with friends on Percy Priest Lake. After moving to Florida in 2012, Ernie loved meeting his many friends for dinner and drinks and always made everyone smile with his singing skills and dance moves!
Ernie was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Joseph LeTourneau, mother, Carol Moen (Kvamme), and stepfather, Iver Moen, sisters Angeline LeTourneau and Caroline Cluckey. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Mona McFarland LeTourneau and his 'girl' Zoie, their long-haired dachshund, several nieces, nephews, and too many dear friends to mention.
A Celebration of Life will be held at JC's Riptides at 2576 S Ridgewood Ave, Edgewater, FL 32141 on January 27th from 3 pm to 5 pm.
