As an "In-Law" to the Rice family, via his nephew, Uncle Ernie & Aunt Toni have always made me feel welcomed, worth hearing and with no nonsense. They seemed to understand my place.
Uncle Ernie was very helpful to my husband and I and both Toni and Ernie were so wonderful to our children.
As people do, we have seen less and less of one another, but when we did see each other or talk, big smiles and thoughtful company were the feeling.
My three favorite memories of Uncle Ernie are of him running from my (then small) kids when they showed him a book that had snakes in it, when I showed him a painting from his mothers family I have always hated and asked him what he sees and without hesitation he said 'an ugly picture', LOL, that was great! Above all, how he ALWAYS referred to Aunt Toni as he wife. He loved her madly. I'm so sorry Aunt Toni. We love you too, Please let us know if you need anything at all.
